Well, in the middle of my winterizing procedure,
I was on the way to pick up some antifreeze and was involved in a serious auto
accident that laid me up for 7 weeks. The freezing weather came and destroyed
our copper plumbing in our 1977 31' Excella. I have replaced all the copper with
new plastic. It took my son with some help from me about 2 full days. I could be
done in less time now that we know. If anyone is interested we are glad to share
the details.
We also set up a system that allows us to pump
out all the water in the lines, install antifreeze and then recover all the
antifreeze all from the interior of the trailer. This is especially helpful to
us since we often go out "weekending" during the winter months. The
system provides us with the ability to "de-winterize" and then
"winterize" in 15 minutes or less without loss of antifreeze we
recover about 95%. Joe from Riverhead, NY.
