[a/s] Battery decision?

Hi,
I am at the point of replacing the old batteries in my '71 Tradewind. It has
been set up for 2 12V Deep Cycle batteries in parallel.  They are roughly
100 amp batteries,  MY question is would it be advantageous to replace them
with 2  220 amp 6V golf cart batteries in series, or would it be a wash
since both setups have roughly the same capacity on paper?  I would have to
reconfigure the wiring of course for the 6V batteries, so that would require
some extra effort.  Our camping consists of weekend trips, about half and
half with hookups and no hookups.
