Re: [a/s] WD-40 - & unlocking the 'locked' door
I think Jerry S. says it perfectly "Keep it's limitations in mind" I
appreciate all the replies about my WD-40 post.
BTW, WD-40 did unlock a van door that we thought had a broken off key in it
because we couldn't even push a key into it. It was an old van we had
purchased (we called it Trusty Rusty) and always had to unlock the passenger
side from inside until I tried the WD-40 trick.
The airstream manual says to use Graphite in the doorlocks.
We looked it up in the manual when we went to the trailer storage lot
yesterday to see how badly we had parked the trailer in the rain the week
before. Wasn't bad. It was a beautiful sunshiny day and we, of course,
walked around looking at the other a/s' in the place. There are at least 7
of all vintages and sizes. A couple of vintage small Land yachts - one of
which had the door hanging open. There were no cars and no one near it so
Tom went over and knocked and called and then peeked in. He said it is more
or less gutted and looked as though it is being worked on so we hoped the
door was just left open to air and dry it out. We're supposed to have no
rain this weekend. There was a new Safari there - prob 25ft. I get really
excited when I see other airstreams - hope I don't cause us to wreck if we
see one on the raod!
