[a/s] Sarasota Rally

Hi everyone,
I'm finally getting caught up with work after playing hooky last week
to go to the Sarasota Rally. I really enjoyed meeting some of the other
listees: Hunter, Cindy & Carl, Dick & Jane, George, and Mike. It's nice to
have faces to the names. My husband and I chickened out and stayed down the
road where we would have full hookups. But, it wasn't too far away so we
were able to get to the flea market early Saturday and go to the vintage
open house as well as hanging with the group at Hunter's trailer.
The best find for us (we hope) was meeting Tom Gaines of Walt's RV
Service from Ocala. We've still not been able to solve our wiring problems.
Tom came over and took a look and decided that it was too messed up for him
to attempt a fix at the site. So, we left our trailer with them on our way
back to Atlanta.
This will be our fourth attempt to get it right. After spending $130 with
the professionals, we still don't have brakes and our left and right turn
signals are now crossed. That made for a very exciting ride to Sarasota and
back to Ocala. Dick had to remember to turn the left turn signal when he
wanted to go right and vice versa. So a word of caution to all you out
there. This all happened because our umbilical cord dragged along the
highway which cut through our wires. The first mechanic crossed our wires
when replacing the pigtail and it's been downhill ever since. We traveled
for a year and never had this problem. Now Dick wraps the new cord around
the jack and leaves just enough play in the cord so that when turning the
plug won't pull out.
