[a/s] Sarasota Day 2
Hi Gang,
Woke up early after a great night's sleep. Last night Mike and George showed
me how to light my stove so I could boil water and make coffee....
So, I boiled it, made coffee and curses.... no milk! So... I grabbed some
ice cream and put it in. It was okay til I got to the bottom and drank a
mouthful of peanuts.
I banged on George's door and mooched a fresh, homemade biscuit. Then we
took the dogs and played some Frisbee nearby.
Mike showed up and we wandered around the trailers. Mike is looking for a
new one so we got to check some out. We ran into Cindy and Carl who were
buying the place out. The got lots of neat bargains off the bulletin board.
Back to my trailer and I made lunch. Then I went to visit a friend in
Longboat Key and Mike and George went to the exhibitors hall and to some
seminars.
We met back here and Mike said Cindy and Carl had told him about a trailer
for sale in Punta Gorda. Mike called the owners and told them we would look
at it tonight or tomorrow. I said, "Lets go now..." So I piled in the back
seat of his pickup, with my dogs and we all went on a shopping trip.
The trailer was great! 32 feet. 1990 Excella 1000. It has travelled a
total of 1200 miles in its whole life! Has new tires, a catalytic heater and
some other add ons. We all felt it had "good vibes" Mike bought it just as
some people who have looked at it twice came back.
It was really exciting to be there...Mike is so happy with it.
We got back here and George cooked us a great dinner....then we went over to
Cindy and Carl's to give them the good news... they had actually seen it last
week when they drove by it and stopped to look.
I am loving this. I usually am alone when I camp, alone in the sense that I
don't know anyone else. It's been a blast hanging here with the people from
the list.
The dogs have been a big hit with many of the other rally attendees.
I did have an "inspector" come by and lift the top of my gas tank cover and
make sure I had the gas turned on. We were sitting under the awning having
lunch when that happened... it was pretty weird...I mean he could have just
asked. He was upset that my Y connector had shut offs, but I had just bought
one without so we installed it and made him happy (c:
So, that's all for now, it's midnight. I'll send this in the morning.
