Having had both, we think there are negatives,  First, venetian blinds get
dirty easily and take WORK to clean.  Second, they often do not provide the
necessary privacy.  Third, with the blinds pulled UP, the cord dangles DOWN,
a tempting plaything for the cat, grandchild,etc.  All this plus the expense
convinced us that roll-ups were better, FWIW............Jim
