Hello Airstreamers!

I'm Loren Peterson, a 26 year old philosophy student at
The University of Washington.  I recently purchased an
Airstream Excella 25' (1995), because I plan to retire as
soon as I get my degree.  Actually, I want to someday lead
tour groups, caravans, and expeditions so I thought the
trailer would come in handy.
I chose Airstream because of the Quality first, Style second,
and finally because it was the only trailer that I felt could
handle what I am going to put it through.

I guess I'm most interested in topics dealing with extended travel,
caravan trips, overseas travel, full-timing, canoeing, travel with pets
(I have a Black Lab named Homer), pinochle, National Parks,
sushi recipes, Dodge trucks, fishing, golf, tennis, hi-fi equipment,
backpacking, and of course, Philosophy. (in this case it would be
"Airstream Philosophy")

I grew up camping a lot with my folks, I guess you could say I inherited
their passion for the open road.  I've traveled extensively in the Pacific
Northwest, Western Canada, and Alaska (2 road trips up there so far).
As a child I remember my grandparents returning from Arizona each
spring, a trip that became more and more necessary as my grandfather's
health got worse.  I distinctly remember wishing I could go with them,
perhaps to escape the damp climate, perhaps to get out of school for a
few months.  Whatever captured me, I haven't lost it to this day.  I (as I
am supposing most of you feel in some respect) am at no greater peace
than when I am traveling the open road.  I enjoy driving and Homer enjoys
riding fully extended out the rear-slider of my pickup, perched diligently
on
top of my Rubbermaid truck box.  In him I feel as though I have found a
soul mate, someone who may enjoy traveling more than I do.

Why do I tell this to complete strangers?  Well, if you're a member of this
discussion group, you will probably know why.
