Peter:
        I pulled a 25 ft a/s with my 1991 F150 with the 300 cu in 6 cylinder
engine and the 5 speed manual.  I had no trouble.  I had a weight
distribution hitch which I would recomend you get for yours.  You also need
to put a break controller on it.
        Go for it.  You are not married to it.  If it fails to preform, get
a new one.  It will teach you a lot about what you want and don't want in a
tow vehicle.
