I spent 6 months in Alaska with my 21' Airstream. I pulled it up and back on 
the ALCAN Highway. Depending on what you want to see, I have a wealth of 
information to share which might help you see Alaska as you want to 
experience it.

You can either privately write with specific questions, or post them on the 
list. One suggestion, though: Go out now and buy a book called The Milepost: 
Trip Planner for Alaska, Yukon Territory, British Columbia, Alberta and 
Northwest Territories.
 
This book is as essential as fuel for a drive to Alaska. I would never do the 
trip without it, nor would anyone else I know who has traveled the ALCAN. 
Most bookstores in the Pacific northwest, the departure point for most trips 
from the continental US to Alaska, stock the book. Any Barnes and Noble can 
order it for you. It is essential.

I love to talk about Alaska, so send any questions and I'll give you my two 
cents worth. FYI, I stayed in the State Parks whenever convenient. Where the 
traffic and scenery warrant it, they are very serious about making their 
parks useful and attractive. 

My personal opinion: 80% of the ALCAN is relatively boring. The other 20% 
blew me away. Trailers and frost heaves don't mix. If you pull the Airstream, 
you will learn why. Driving with only four wheels touching the road is much 
different from eight wheels, when frost heaves line the road.
