Fred, Rik and all,
Fred you make a good point and at first blush I was on track with you
until it dawned on me that a lot of good sailing is done on lakes at
altitude. Take Lake Tahoe for instance, it's 6,200 feet above sea level and
many fine boats operate there and it gets COLD in the winter. So it's not
too much of a stretch to think that of all the boats on the lake some might
have this heater operating in their boats.
I placed a call to the maker and their tech rep is going to call me back
with an answer. He called back and has never been asked that question.
He's going to contact the maker of the sensor (in Spain) and get back to me
with the answer. So soon as I hear, I'll let you all know.
My sense though is that these heaters will still function as designed at
altitude but let's see what information comes back to me.
