Re: [VACList] LP Gauge

Yosef,

Continuing along Gary's line of thought.
Unless someone has removed the original automatic changeover regulator you
already have an indicator that tells you when you go below 50% capacity. In
other words, when 1 tank is empty. Unless someone is using LP at a ferocious
rate the changeover regulator will give you plenty of notice and you won't spend
money on something you don't need.
Just in case you are not aware the changeover regulator works as follows:
Starting with both tanks full and their valves fully open.
The switch/knob on the regulator will be directed at one tank, the service tank.
The indicator colored silver or green (usually) will be visible at the top of
the regulator.
The regulator will draw from the service tank until it is completely empty at
which time it will automatically switch over and begin to draw from the second
tank. When it does this the indicator will change to Red.
Any time shortly after you see the red indication you should turn the
switch/knob so it points to the opposite tank which then becomes the service
tank. The indicator will then return to the silver or green color.
Once you have done this you close the valve on the empty tank, disconnect the LP
gas line, remove the tank, get it refilled, remount the tank and open the valve.

All this with no interruption of LP gas service.
