If you look over your Argosy you will probably notice the seams are bare 
sealant, not painted over.
You could very well seal it first then paint over the sealant, but 
eventually the paint will seperate from the sealant. Another thing on 
sealing first is that when it (the paint) does start to seperate from the 
sealant it may cause the paint to peel in some areas.
Remember the sealant is flexible, the paint isn't.
