Re: [VACList] Re: Tow vehicle recommendation needed.

Huff
Your right about the Hummer being low. I didn't think of that when I said
the Hummer would look pretty cool towing an Airstream. While we were in
Destin the guy next to us had a Class A motorhome and the vehicle he pulled
behind it was a Hummer. While parked next to our Airstream it looked pretty
neat but now that I think about it, when it was next our Suburban 4X4 it
looked rather low. I would also assume that since it's much lower than a
Suburban and rather boxy that one would get a lot of wind resistance. Not so
much from the Airstream of course, but from the flat front end and the
fairly straight up windshield which adds to the boxy appearance.
I still think they are pretty neat vehicles, I've driven the military
version for years before I retired, and I think they do a pretty good job
considering we replaced the old Peacekeepers with them, but they (the
military ones) break a lot. Off road they are fun, but I don't think I'd
want one to tow with, even the military version, or the H2 spinoff.
