[VAC] Re: OVERSEAS Caravans

Dick while it is true that the whole caravan cannot be heald up until the
parts came in I recieved no support from the caravanner's headquarters. I
called and was told I would have to find my own way out.I speek no spanish I
finally found a tow truck who would take me to the border he dropped my truck
and trailer a mile from the border and would not go any further. It cast me
another $250 to get into Texas I was towed a total of 82 miles for $850.00
The next morning I called the caravanners office the secu
etary answered and was shocked to know i had troubles.I needed to get my
trailer from the dodge dealer to the RV park where we met to start the
caravan. She said no one had talked to her about that and didn't know what to
do
.Couldn't I stay on the dealers lot? That was impossible she finally found
a friend who had a truck to tow me to the RV park.He did it free as a favor
for one who was in trouble. In the 10 days I had to wait to have a new
transmission installed in my truck NO one from the caravanners in an official
capacity came by to see if I was ok or needed anything. The secutary(bless
her hart)came by a few times to see if we needed anything and the good
Samaritan who towed us to the RV park came by to offer any help he could. For
this service I paid $1800.00 to the caravaner as did the other 10.
I later heard from one of the other members who told me he left a little
early to fule up and while he was there the caravan blew by him while his
back was turned didn't waite on him and stayed at a differnt camp ground
than planned. It took him a day and a half to find the caravan.
In the Caravan was a lady who was traveling solo she is I am sore pushing 80
years of age . would she have been left had she broken down??
Perhaps I am old fashioned but I was an Infantry soldger in ww2 and korea
we took care of our own no matter the price. those ethics are now passe.
