[VAC] Re: Vintage tow vehicles benefit



Hi List,

I used to tow my 61 LY with a 48 Chevy Panel Wagon, 216 straight 6 in it, and 
the towing wasn't a big problem it was the rear drag.  Even with the heavier 
springs (which I think the Panel wagons and Carry Alls had back then) there 
was some sagging toward the back.  I never went very fast in it and never did 
freeways while towing (never went very fast when not towing) the only danger 
I saw in it is you become such a "road show" that people almost wreck into 
you trying to give you the thumbs up or taking photos, you really have to 
watch for them swerving into you.  Other than that, it was a lot of fun on 
the road, but must admit didn't tow long distances or for long stretches at a 
time.
