I went to the local auto paint supply store, bought
the aluminum cleaner/etcher stuff - sprayed it on,
rinsed it off, dried the trailer, and started
polishing.  I honestly had better luck on the parts I
just washed and polished.

I think the etching stuff was a Dupont product? came
in a vinegar bottle type thingy.

yah, I'm *real* technical.
