Another option is the 'Run-Flat' tire... these are rather expensive
(replacements for the 20" rear wheels on the plymouth prowler are about $450
each), but they do work (extra-stiff sidewalls, like trailer tires), and
obviate the need for spares... remote tire-pressure sensing a la SmarTire is
a must with these, as well...
