My old F-150 went 165,000 miles without the spare ever being changed. My trailer however had one several years ago. With the SmarTire system in the trailer tires, I certainly don't want any of the flat preventer messing up the sensors. Look at it as insurance. Spares are there if you need them; hopefully you won't. -Tom
