Hello,
I too have a spare problem on the 68 Sovereign. No place to mount it, and no 
desire to carry it in the tow vehicle. ( 2 kids, 2 dogs, and all the stuff 
they want to carry) I have made the decision to buy a good set of tires, 
inflate them properly, check them often on the trip, don't over load by 
weighing and balancing and most important PAY MY AAA MEMBERSHIP FEE!
