I have a 26 foot (single axle) Overlander that weighs in at 5000 pounds. For
years we towed it with an '83 1/2 ton Suburban with 2 wheel drive. It
handled the trailer like a dream. It had the 350 V-8 engine with the wrong
rear end gear ratio for towing. The Suburban, however was at the upper end
of its limits, we later tried to tow a 30 foot 7000 pound trailer-with
miserable results.
