Re: [VAC] 1964 Bambi II

Hi Dave,

Our '61 Bambi has side-by-side, separated receptacles within the same
overall fixture to accept one 12vdc bulb and one 117 vac bulb. Each fixture
has two switches. You can select which type of lighting is appropriate for
any occasion. Just don't put your expensive 12vdc bulb into the 117 vac and
hit the switch! The Bambi has four such fixtures; one each on either side of
the front window just aft of the curve, one in the kitchen sink area and one
curb side of the range in the rear (which also shines thru a small window
into the toilet/shower). Our '64 Overlander has 12vdc (16v*AC* out of the
converter, when switched to shore power, by the way)automotive-style,
lighting (incandescent) only. Don't know how this applies to your situation,
but maybe it will give you an idea of what Airstream was thinking during
those years. Let us know how you make out. Good luck!
