The tongue weight of my '77 Excella 500 31' was around 1,000 lbs. with two 
40 lb. aluminum LPG tanks.  The best I remember, the GVWR was 8,100 lbs. and 
the entire trailer weighed a little over 6,000 lbs. (I travel light).  Check 
the plate on the front of the trailer because it looks like you are over the 
GVWR.
