I am imminently qualified to answer this <g>  Hail can turn your Airstream 
into what looks like a big dimpled elongated silver golf ball.  I got in hail in 
South Dakota and had most of my trailer reskinned.

Reskinning is the cure.

In a twist of fate, that hail storm eventually saved my life, but that's 
another story.

The roof doesn't matter really, since you can't see it.  Hail did come 
through my skylight though, and destroyed my a/c shroud.
