I live not far from a U.S. Bilstein factory distribution center which
conducts open houses and tours of their facility and shock absorber related
workshops.

If several Airstreamers are interested, I will buy an OEM shock absorber
(they have been made in the past by Delco and Gabriel) and see if Bilstein
has a comparable (or most likely, superior) shock absorber.
