*Thought I would try the legendary 3M 5200 sealant first*

My husband is a boatbuilder and uses this stuff daily. He recommends AGAINST 
using 5200 if you ever think you will need to take the rig apart again. It 
is very permanent and next to impossible to get off. He says to use 3M 101 , 
still gives you the sealing power of 5200 but can be removed.
