Chris,

Your detailed explanation and the photos described it pretty well.  
Firring the walls out with luan was brilliant.

About the only question I have is that it seems you put luan on the 
wall between the shower and galley, and I assume the wall between the 
shower and hallway.  For the exterior curving wall, was the only luan 
used to box out around that duct?

While your end result sounds great, I will try my adhesive caulk idea 
first.  If I ever decide to full time in my trailer, your method 
would be time and money well spent.

Since we have the same year and model of trailer, I was wondering if 
you have done anything to brighten up the galley, which always seems 
a little dark to me with that dark refrigerator and cabinetry 
opposite the sink and stove.  

I've considered installing a 12 volt fluorescent light in between the 
air conditioner and the front edge of the cabinet over the sink.  
Also thought about removing the factory roof vent / light combo and 
replacing with a modern RV skylight / vent, and a fluorescent light 
fixture off to one side.  For the sake of keeping things somewhat 
original, I don't want to paint all those cabinets a brighter color, 
although that would be a quick and easy solution.
