Sounds to me like you need to check the ground on the plugs. When I was on a rally last month someone suggested leaving at least one stabilizer on the ground vs putting a block under it so that you can get a better ground in case you are struck by lightening. Made sense to me so I leave one stabilizer without a block of wood to get a good ground.
