[A/S] Re: Goodyear tires?

I own a 1979 and when I bought it a few years ago the tires were
completely cracked and rotted. I replaced them right away. Since I
have the original steel wheels, 16" I think, selection of tires was
limited.

I bought Goodyear Workhorse tires. These are a very heavy bias ply
tire.

These have served me well for the past few years. My only hang-up is
that the outside diameter of the tread is maybe an inch or so larger
than what was originally on the trailer. This limits the clearance
at the front and rear of the wheel well. Still, plenty of room to
travel up and down, and distance between tires (tandem axle) is okay.

I also invested in a set of tire covers which I use when not
camping. These covers were originally an ivory color but have now
been bleached white by the sun. The tires still look new. Money
well spent.
