Hi List,
I just got an interesting tid bit on fuel consumption this passed week end
at our local Unit Rally. One of our members that owns a new big Airstream
diesel pusher just purchased one of the "C Class" SOB motor homes built on
the Mercedes running gear. They bought it because they liked the unit for
short trips, and not because they thought it would get good MPG. They still
have their big Airstream also. The sales person told them it would get 24
MPG on the open road, this got a snicker from Eelco Tinga - the new owner a
40+ year veteran Airstreamer. They purchased the unit in Florida someplace,
and got 24 MPG on two fill ups on the way home to Wilmington, NC.
I didn't think any thing with a "potty" could get close to that kind of
mileage.
