Re: [A/S] Pickup lid or camper shell and fuel economy

A friend has a Glasstite brand camper shell on his truck. The top
actually slides forward after opening to completely clear the rear
area, even above the tailgate - the rear door opening is HUGE. See
the GT-2000 at:

http://www.glasstite.com/glasstite.htm

Their other models may have this door as well.

I have an old A.R.E that I am happy with, but if I ever replace it, I
will look for this Glasstite unit.

BTW, when I replaced my '97 Dodge with a '03 Dodge, my A.R.E. camper
shell still fit OK. $100 to get it painted and now it has a new life.
