Re: [A/S] hit some paint while buffing

Hi Jeanine,
The 70's Airstreams have a special factory installed clear coat over the
aluminum, which means that polishing is unecessary. However, after a
while the clear coat gets tired in some cases and starts to turn white
and peel off. Many of us just live with it, but some strip off the
clearcoat and polish it. and yes it is a lot of work.

There are a few places that will recoat it for you, it is a highly toxic
and cranky finish that can't be done by either you or a regular car
painting place.

My 1973 still has it's original finish and looks great in most places,
so if you look carefully, you don't need to get started on polishing
madness.
