I understood Charlie to mean a enclosed/sealed unit when he referred
to an RV generator.  That is one reason that the weight is such a
significant issue, as you are not only dealing with the weight of the
genset, but the enclosure and its insulation as well.  For example
Onan lists two units large enough to run an air conditioner (3.6kW)
that weigh in just at 170#.  Add to that the "box" and ventilated door
to get the installation "outside" and you are close to 200# at one
point in the trailer.

Valid point about installing a genset in an RV though.  It must be
outside the trailer, even if you bring outside into the coach.
