you people are being so helpful, I cannot begin to thank you all and my thanks
to Hunter for allowing this barely on topic to run this long. however, I would
hope there is grist here for everyone's mill. at one time or another, we very
well may find ourselves in less than optimum camping areas. I too have a dead
bolt on my door and of course, the standard Bargman door set for a 1977 trailer.
but the door set does not have the key in the handle ... I DO NOT THINK it is
anyway. hmmm. actually, that key may very well operate the dead bolt. I think
it might be useful to install a barrel hasp on the inside surface of the door.
might just peel my door skin from the overlap near the bottom of the window and
drill a hole thru both frames and mount a drift bolt... kinda like a bolt on a
bolt action rifle. then cut out a slot so that I can maneuver that handle back
and forth. heh! in fact, I do have a couple of extra mossberg shotgun bolts I
think they are.
one inch in diameter.... just too long.

well, thanks for another excellent suggestion all
please keep them coming as long as Hunter lets them.
cheers
