We aren't new RVers, although we are new to travel trailers.  We've had 
truck campers, fifth wheels, and, currently, a Class C.  We've been RVing 
for about 10 years, half of which were spent fulltiming.  We're looking to 
return to the fulltime lifestyle.  We're very knowledgeable about weight 
issues and the wheelbase of the tow vehicle to the length of the trailer 
issue.  We are very cautious and defensive drivers, seldom exceeding 60 MPH 
and allowing plenty of room between us and the vehicles in front.

We also learned a long time ago to never trust the word of a salesman 
without independent verification...which prompted my original question about 
the Hensley vs the Equal-i-zer hitches.  The only reason we are even 
considering the Equal-i-zer is because the salesman who recommended it is a 
long-time Airstream owner, and has the 34' Classic Airstream we're 
interested in.  However, I'd still like to find other people who have used 
it and get their opinion.  Preferably, I'd like to find someone who has used 
BOTH, but I suppose that's too much to hope for! :-)
