Hi:
When I replaced the kitchen stove and oven, I noticed the detector had
been wired to the hot wire to the furnace.. Looks like it needs a hot
wire and a ground... makes sense since you don't want any switches,
etc between the detector and the battery...The detector in our trailer
had apparently failed and could not be reseet, so the owner had cut
the supply wire behind the detector... I just removed the rats nest of
wire behind the stove and put in the new stove... If your furnace is
near the location of the new detector, you can find a hot wire (hot
all the time) and the thermostat wires that operate the relays in the
furnace...
