Okay Fritz & Carol,
I had a '94 30' front kitchen a couple of years ago.  I added an LP detector
to the bottom of the cabinet that the TV sat on next to the door.  I tapped
into the wiring for the outside step light for power.  The LP detector can
be anywhere as long as it's close to the floor and in the area where the
gas appliances are used.  LP gas is heavier then air and pools near the
floor.  The wires to the detector in my present trailer, 2000 28', are red
(positive) and black (ground) and they connect to white (ground) and
gray (positive) trailer wiring.  I like to include a switch so I can turn 
it off
when shutting the trailer down for an extended period.
