RE: [A/S] Fantastic vents replacement

Hi Mary Ellen,
I remember a series of posts on this List some time back about folks
removing the combo fan - lights and replacing them with a Fantastic Vent,
then using the light wires in the old system to power a new light mounted on
the ceiling adjacent to the new fan. I thought that sounded like improving
your cake while getting to eat it also. 
I have kicked myself several times for paying almost $500 to have one of the
original combination units replaced with a new like unit. I could have had a
new rain guard Fantastic Vent and a nice light controlled by the switch by
the front door for less than 1/2 the money, and both would have been better
working units than the combo I have now.
