Hi Mary Ellen,

I replaced my living room light/vent with a FV, and don't mind loosing 
the light. I have lamps on the table and the credenza held down with 
Velcro, and strip lights under the curtain valances.  I prefer to have 
side lighting rather than overhead lighting anyway, and the light that 
comes through the FV is nice too.

Personally, I prefer the way the FV looks on the outside, and you can't 
beat the air movement..
