[A/S] RE:Diesel parts and Warranty problems??

As for older GMCs....Our diesel 97 GMC 2500HD Sierra 4x4 has gone through 3
injector pumps...2 on the PO's tab and one on ours... It has the Detroit
diesel engine, which is known to have that problem. At $1600 a piece
including labor, that truck will have a For Sale sign on it soon enough. GMC
knows about this issue and refuses any compensation by saying that the
engine manufacturer should be responsible since they are independent of each
other. Also the auto transmission also has issues that nobody, including
the dealer, seems to be able to figure out. And yes, everything is way more
expensive to repair on the diesel.

Hubby wanted a 5-speed, but hasn't been able to find one in our area for
years. Looks like we'll be towing the A/S to Texas for a Dodge Cummins TD
6-spd where they're a dime a dozen. That is , if the GMC tranny doesn't poop
out on us first!
