Jim, I always dose the black tank with its
bio-chemical and a toilet bowl full of water.  Grey
tank I leave dry.  Because my trips are not frequent,
we have found that not adding the chemical to the
toilet results in the black tank harboring little
black nats that love to come into the trailer when you
flush the toilet on your first outing after some
extended storage at home.  

I assume these little guys are entering through the
roof vent and making their way down into the tank. 
The grey tank is pretty much protected by the water
traps in the drain lines.  We haven't seen problems
there, although that grey tank probably has minimal
stuff that would harbor those nasty little bugs.
