[A/S] odor when hydroflame heater runs

Any ideas as to the odor that seems to build the longer the heater 
runs?  I have a '58 18ft A/S with the original gas lp heater 
(hydroflame). it hasnt ran in years.  i ran it for a good 6 -  8 hrs, 
worked fine , thermostat and all.  Im pretty sure there are no lp gas 
leaks.  but it is old and perhaps its not having complete combustion.  
and venting properly.  i havent taken apart to clean either.  was going 
to ask the forum first.  thanks Jim-   new owner
