Why change your lights?  Trucking firms, new trailer manufacturers and the 
newer traffic light signals incorporate an LED array because it is brighter 
and more visible.  Take a look at some of the third brake lights built into 
trunk lids on some vehicles and you can see how much brighter the LED's are 
than standard brake lights using filament bulbs.  If you have the money it 
is not a bad idea to prevent rear end collisions.
