Do a lot more research on the net etc, find a vintage unit (over 25 years
old) that is in very good original condition. They are out there. The older
Airstreams weigh a lot less than modern ones and even in perfect operating
condition, they cost far less than a new one and quite a bit less than a new
pop up. The best part is, you won't be getting into something that'll
depreciate at a rapid rate the day you buy it. The down side to Vintage
Airstreams is that you will need to tinker to keep them going, however as
you noted, most of the systems don't have to work to meet your needs. Make
sure you have a tow vehicle that is up to the task.
