You will love the Allison after you get used to it.  Like Hunter says,
you can see all around and not many people try to crowd in front of
you.  As for the 26 gallon tank, I do not go over 2 hours without a
potty break so I keep an eye on the fuel gage and fill up often.  I do
carry one or two jerry cans with spare #2 in the back of the truck
though have never needed them.

The Duramax/Allison is a sweet, mean pulling machine. I run 60 to 65
mph, enough to keep me in 5th gear most of the time and get 12 to 13
mpg pulling about 8,000 pounds.
