It isn't the trailer guru's that advocate the tilting of the head. It's 
the engineers that design them and the companies that sell them. No 
hitch installation instructions I have ever seen leaves out this step. 
I'm pretty sure they wouldn't design in and spend the money to allow for 
head tilt if it wasn't important.
When the tilt setting is according to manufacturers specification and 
the hitch is loaded up and ready to go the ball will have little or no 
tilt remaining.
While we are all entitled to opinions it is important not to suggest 
that other's designed requirements are not equally important. It's the 
engineers not the guru's the advocate.
