Costco, Sam's Club, Discount Tire and many other tire dealers have the
Hoffman type computer balancers. Many car dealers also have them.  I know of
several Mercedes dealers who have Hoffman machines (but then, they are
partial to German equipment.) Hoffman (imported and sold under FMC},
Coates, and some others are examples of this technology.  Note that these
machines ballance the tire and wheel off the vehicle, are very accurate, and
provide both the static and dynamic balance.  These machines are not cheap,
but are very popula with large volume tire dealers since they are fast and
accurate.

Many years ago, Hunter made a balancer called the "Hunter Tuner", which
mounted on the the wheel while it was on the vehicle, and the wheel was spun
with a portable motor.  I hve not seen one lately, but then I haven't
looked.  At the time, this was an excellent on the vehicle balancer.  These
days, Hunter offers an off the vehicle, computer balancer of the Hoffman
type.  Hunter Tuners may still be available.
