I seriously doubt my truck and trailer will get disconnected.  It's 
impossible to disconnect them without powering down the side jacks and there's the 
little ear thingies that have hooks holding them..

I would never go with uncrossed chains because I don't want to look like I 
don't know what I'm doing.

I my opinion not crossing the chains, when pulling any trailer, makes the 
operator look pretty bush league.
