The 225-75-15 is the metric size that compares to the 7.00-15 tire although 
it is slightly shorter I understand.  I have a 31' Excella with Carlisle ST 
225-75-16 load range D tires and I had a blowout last year coming back from 
Georgia.  All 4 tires were 3.5 years old.  My 25' '86 Sovereign is shod with 
Goodyear Marathon 255-75-15 load range C tires that are a mixture of less 
than a year to 2 years old but I can't tell you their history since I just 
bought the trailer several months ago.  1100 miles on them since purchase 
and no problem.  I'm beginning to believe it's just luck of the draw.  I 
would however, keep close eye on tire pressure whatever tire brand you 
choose.
