RE: [A/S] Brake Problems



Contrary to Mr. Dorsey's comment, automakers are now recommending flushing
and replacing brake fluid every few years or every 40,000 miles or so.
Modern disc brakes get much hotter than the old drum brakes and are
therefore more sensitive to moisture in the brake fluid (which can readily
turn to steam and really foul up the braking operation.  Also, moisture in
the brake fluid can cause rust in the brake lines, brake cylinders in the
wheels and in the master cylinder with serious and expensive consequences.
Thus, fresh clean brake fluid is a lot cheaper than metal.
