We have used the Wal*Mart, blue, in-line filter for the past five years.  We 
find it to be effective in eliminating the bad taste that is found in some 
water supplies.  The only problem we have encountered is with leakage from the 
joints on the flexible, short, hose connector that is included with the filter.  
We usually leave the filter on for the camping season.  We have used it for 
up to six months in a fixed location camp site.  We do the vast majority of our 
camping in the winter, so we start our "season" with a fresh filter from 
Wal*Mart or Camping World.
